Where do you find settings?
We mainly use the players’ streams on Twitch. We are attentive and try to upload the settings as soon as possible. Be careful, although it is wise to look at the settings of professional players, we advise you to try different settings in order to make your opinion. Indeed, the important thing is your playing comfort. It is sometimes possible that a player’s configuration does not adapt to your playstyle.
Since Monday, Respawn Entertainment’s new battle royale has been attracting many players. However, some of them have some difficulty running the game in 60 IPS. Although playing with the settings will never turn a toaster into a war machine, disabling some features could save you some power. Another interesting thing is that Apex Legends limits the frames per second to 144. Even if this is not achievable for most computers, it may limit the performance of some.
For the less fortunate who have some fluidity concerns, the first thing to do is of course to lower the resolution. If the problem persists, here is a list of the different video options offered by Apex Legends and their potential effect on your images per second.
How to boost FPS ?
Apex Video Settings
Antialiasing: Disabling this option will increase your computer’s performance by about 3%. This option is only cosmetic since it is used to soften the edges of textures.
Streaming textures resources: Not related to the stream, this option only affects textures. Between the highest quality and deactivation of this option, there is an increase in performance of about 6%.
Texture filtering: This option allows you to obtain clearer textures. Again, an increase in performance of about 6% can be observed when moving from the highest to the lowest resolution.
Ambient occlusion quality: This parameter takes into account the creation of the different shadows of the game, so it is very greedy. By disabling it, you will see an increase in performance of about 15% compared to those recorded with this “high” option.
Shade of the sun: Here again, we talk about shadows, but this time they are those generated by the sun. Switching from “high” to “low” resolution will increase your performance by about 5%.
Sun shadows details: This option adds more or less detail to the shadows shown above. Disabling it will save you about 3% more frames per second.
Shadow drop details: These shadows are those projected by elements of the environment. Disabling them will also increase your performance by about 3%.
Volumetric lighting: This option takes into account the light generated by certain elements such as sunlight. Disabling these details will save you about 6% more frames per second.
Dynamic shadows: More shadows, but this time they are those generated by movements. Surprisingly, disabling them does not seem to change the performance of your device.
Model details: This option adjusts the quality of the characters and objects in the game. Disabling it will increase your performance by about 6%.
Effect details: This parameter takes into account the details of “special effects” such as explosions for example. Disabling this setting does not seem to change the performance of your computer.
Impact marks: As its name suggests, this option controls the quality of bullet impacts. Its deactivation does not allow to boost the images per second.
Ragdoll effect: Here you can control the realism of players’ death animations. This option also does not seem to have any influence on the performance of your equipment.
By disabling different options, it seems possible to scrape about 65% more images per second, which is not insignificant. This could help some players to reach the much-awaited 60 IPS. Let enjoy the game, you are on apex legends settings.
